Introduction:

For my self-portrait I worked with the theme of the invisible versus the visible. Making visible the invisible that is initially not visible. My focus is the- refore on the invisible. The invisible of human. In this case myself as a human being. The invisible theme relates to the inner as well as the outer. During my performace I worked with memories, wounds, scars, but also with ‘meaning’.
I made use of the visual power of my own body. The visual power of the human body in the theme of the unrecognizable.
This is a work about the strength and power of ‘change’. Change of time and place. (But also my own change of time and place, visible with change of time and place in nature). Placing materials in a changing environment. The environ- ment is changing because wind, light, sound, rain etc is changing. The ‘outcome’ is random and not predictable. What stays behind? What do the patterns look like of the ‘staying behind’? The work is trace of staying and passing. The forms (my own body elements) are forms of movement. The work is the result of the coming together.
My focus is therefore also on change by nature. So, the work is placed in nature for a longer period of time so that change becomes visible.
